Hello, my name is Joye. I am excited to be part of the Joe’s Kids Reading Connections team as Program Director. I have attained a Bachelors in Elementary Education and Special Education, then a Master’s in Education. Early in my career, I joined a local tutoring center. The center focused on Dyslexia and multi-sensory reading approach. The years teaching these programs formed my philosophy of education at the foundational level. I then transitioned to teaching in a local school system; Special Education teacher, General Classroom teacher, and reading interventionist we some of the roles that I occupied while there. Joe’s Kids utilizes Orton-Gillingham and a multi-sensory reading approach to support children and families that are looking to strengthen skills or have been diagnosed as dyslexic.
