Joanna Cohan, PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant
My name is Joanna and I have been a physical therapist assistant (PTA) since graduating from Brown Mackie College in 2011. While attending school, I knew that I wanted to work in pediatrics, but my clinical experience was with adults in acute, rehabilitation, and long-term care.
After graduating in 2011 I began my career in a pediatric outpatient clinic and have worked in pediatrics ever since. I have experience working with a variety of diagnoses in the pediatric setting including: autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome, and other genetic and developmental disorders. I have continuing education in: seating and positioning, tone management, Kinesio-Taping, TheraSuit Method, and If You Can’t Breathe You Can’t Function. I love working at JOE’s and treating a variety of diagnoses. My favorite thing is seeing kids become stronger and realize they can now do things other kids do, like: jump, walk on a balance beam, ride a bike, or climb the rock wall.
